Cosmetic Veneers are custom-created ultra-thin porcelain shells that are placed directly over your existing teeth. Some of the reasons to get veneers might include:

What's the Procedure for Getting a Dental Veneer?

Getting a dental veneer usually requires three trips to the dentist – one for a consultation and two to make and apply the veneers. One tooth or many teeth can simultaneously undergo the veneering process described below.

Veneers offer the following advantages:

How Long Do Dental Veneers Last?

Veneers generally last between 5 and 10 years. After this time, the veneers would need to be replaced.

Do Dental Veneers Require Special Care?

Dental veneers do not require any special care. Continue to follow good oral hygiene practices including brushing and flossing as you normally would.

Even though porcelain veneers resist stains, your dentist may recommend that you avoid stain-causing foods and beverages (for example, coffee, tea, or red wine).

Are There Alternatives to Dental Veneers?

Yes, alternatives to veneers include bonding and crowns. Veneers offer a nice intermediate option. Veneers may be best suited for individuals who want to change the shape of their teeth more than just a little bit -- as is done with bonding -- but not enough to require a crown.

Are they right for me?

Veneers are most appropriate for persons whose teeth have been severely compromised over the years or where there are extreme problems with spacing. For lesser problems, simple bonding might be a better choice. Veneers can literally transform a smile, however, and this cosmetic dentistry procedure really can change lives.

Dental Lumineer Veneers

What are Lumineers?

Lumineers are porcelain veneers that are contact-lens thin and are applied to the teeth without the necessity of grinding or shaving. Lumineers can be placed over existing crowns or bridgework without having to replace them. They are made from patented porcelain unavailable anywhere other than from the Lumineers Design Studio. They have clinically been proven to last over 20 years and are completely reversible!

What is involved?

Lumineers usually take two visits to apply. Dr. Branscombe sends an impression to the Design Studio. On the next visit he ensures the Lumineers are a good fit, bonded to the teeth and set in place with a curing light. No shots are needed as there is no shaving or grinding down of your teeth.

Are Lumineers right for me?

This will depend on what you want to correct in your smile. Lumineers can have certain limitations, including confining the dentist to working with the shapes the way they are, and in some instances, more limited color control. Come in for a free cosmetic consultation and Dr. Barlow will determine if they are right for you.
